From the moment her voice first touched my ears I was in love with Whitney Houston. I was walking through the grocery store and on came "Hold Me in Your Arms" with Teddy Pendergrass--I was stopped dead in my tracks--and I said, "who the hell is THAT?!!"
She had such an incredible singing and physical presence. POISE, STYLE, GRACE, BEAUTY, PERFECTION on STAGE--but her Personal LIFE and battle with drugs and seemingly biggest addiction--to Bobby Brown--complete train wreck--. She is one of the few who could SING--TO THAT CALBER-- AND ACT!!!

So sad. So many of the GREAT singers/entertainers die so young. I can't really imagine my life without Whitney as my favorite singer-IN MY LATE TEENS, -my 20's and early 30's I was an addicted fan--obsessed. As someone who has seen every performance interview--this one is definately one of her FIERCEST--she was ON in this one--amazing! PEACE to Whitney and her family...SOMEONE WROTE "HER VOICE HAS RETUREND TO HEAVEN--FROM WHERE IT CAME..."

I got a couple new J. Crew Cardi.'s--Jenna's Cardi in Nightfall Floral is an exquisite print--I positively LOVE IT. Then I have a Factory Cardi. in this Vine Print which is also an absolute LOVE. Then I have the beautiful Ashbury Floral Scarf which is something I "PEEPED" and HELD in the store --but put it down and walked away--and then my entire 2 hour drive home daydreamed about intently/unshakeable from my "fashion mind"--so ultimately ended up buying off E-Bay for wayyy tooo much money--but in cost per wear one day--hopefully it will be worth every hard earned cent.
I am wearing the Hipslung jeans with the Nightfall Floral Cardi and the Bootcut cords with the Vine Print Cardi--both pants are from prior seasons. I also have the Evie Cami in off-white and the Palmera Cami. in Mint. The Grommett McAllisters in Gray, and the Jamie Peep toe Heels.

The cute bicycle tee is ATL--paired nicely with the Ashbury Scarf-don't cha think?!!!!

Yoga Meditation Concepts

Again YOGA is NOT a RELIGION--and I don't think that trying YOGA will send you "straight to hell in a handbasket" if you are committed to a particular RELIGION or way of thinking. I think many People are hesitant to "try YOGA" because they think it's some form of Religion or Cult.
The practice of YOGA has been passed down over 5,000 years originating from --yes-- India. So originating terms/words are from the language of India--using these terms or pondering these terms will NOT make you a Hindu or a Buddhist--I promise--just af if my Speaking Spanish does not make me Hispanic.

In YOGA the word citta refers to getting the mind to "sit" as in stilling the mind through breath or the YOGA postures. By focusing on your breath or your physical alignment in a pose one can get the mind very focused and submerged in the here and now. This can also be achieved through Meditation--although for me--I have better luck getting my mind to SIT and STILL when I am doing the physical postures as I am a physical person. I am working on my meditation without movement--but this is definately more difficult for me.

Buddhi is a word that refers to the intellect. It is not derived from "Buddha"--but the word means "to bud" to grow--everyday we are learning and smarter and wiser than the day before--and therefore PERSPECTIVE becomes broader.

Purusa is a word that refers to the PURE SOUL. Is the mind and the intellect the SOUL? In YOGA MEDITATION one of the goals are directed by the thought that once you can sit the mind and stop the intellect-- then a person see their true soul--which by the way is beautiful and pure and not clouded by thoughts that the mind and intellect may have whirling around in there!

Can you conceptualize these terms?
For me--I can--these terms really speak to me and I can integrate this way of thinking easily into my life.
If this is too "out there" for you--don't worry--it's OK--RELAX--I still suggest trying YOGA--and see what happens.....trying to take the time to breathe, move, focus--be still--is definately good for a Person in the constant state of constancy and go, go, going of everyday life.

I "KILLED IT" to the "TJ MAXX!"

I went in for a replacement PURPLE sweater in lightweight wool in this COLOR from TJ's as I had accidentally destroyed--i.e. washed--the one that I got from there a couple years ago that I loved. So it took seconds to find this one!!!! A little different style but I LOVE IT. Then I had been looking at some sneakers online in this purple color that were sharp looking but quite pricey--and right now I forget the brand name-- cuz since I found these Reeboks I let that information leave my brain. (I only have soooo much room in this head of mine for information--LOL). And then lastly--I found this Copper Brown bomber jacket--it's not leather but DAMN it is HAWT--styled quite nicely. So moral of the story--sometimes it just pays to get your bootie out there and shop instead of sitting at the computer and shopping ONLINE--which is more convenient--but alas--more loot!Have a Wonderful Day FASHIONISTAS!

I just wanted to share the first Victoria Wieck Ring I decided to get!!!! I love this ring!!! Love purple with fuschia! I haven't received it yet but am in great anticipation. I've always gotten GREAT JEWELRY from past relationships--diamonds, movado watches...but secretively I always wished that the person I was with at the time had known me enough on Valentines Day, Birthday, or Christmas to simply get me amethyst or purple gems. It wasn't about the price spent but more about knowing me--and knowing what I like--which is PURPLE, PURPLE, PURPLE ALL DAY--EVERYDAY!!! smile
Of course I could've just said what I wanted clearly instead of expecting those guys to be "mindreaders." But of course I didn't...
This year I was so elated and delighted when my dear Mother got me some pretty purple earrings and a purple bracelet--it goes to show--that she's the one who knows me best--and loves me the BEST~ALWAYS!!!!

Well--'tis unabashadly true that this pairing makes a LOUD STATEMENT--and a few People I encountered today really didn't get this....I understand their confusion cuz honestly I NEVER would have come up with this pairing myself. So how did it happen? Well--I came across in a magazine months ago J. Crew pairing the Casbah Romper with the Leopard Perfect Shirt--and at first glance I thought NOOOO too! But shhh...I ripped out the page and secretively swiped it-- the more I looked at the pic. the more I liked the pairing!!! It wasn't "love at first site for me either" but it definately grew on me--and so here I tried it and I really ended up confidently Loving My Look Today!!!
I am wearing these tops with the Twill Minnies--how could I resist with the sale on these--I think they were like 40 bucks. So comfortable and cool--I sized down from my usual size on these which is what the PS recommended I do when I tried them on like a year ago.

Oh yea--this is a BRIGHT ONE--featuring J.Crew's City Mini in Bright Dahlia HERE and the Silk Ridged Shell in Admiral Blue HERE! I loved this outfit today--I wore it with the tights and boots but in warmer/kinder weather will wear it as in the 1st option. I actually think this skirt will be an "all season skirt for me." It's lined and IMO--TTS! All sizes are still available--but this hasn't gone on sale yet--wait it out and take the chance for the sale--which is something I usually do to be honest-- or get it NOW (caved)-and I'm positive you won't regret it!!! This outfit is a FUSION of the J. Crew Factory Eyelash Scarf in Rose Shadow (note this scarf is PURPLE not ROSE) and the J. Crew Factory Flora Dress HERE--scarf is light and airy and the dress is just gorgeous--the print is exquisite. When I was wearing it yesterday I felt like I was laying in a field of grass and flowers!!! LOL
This dress is lined with an elasticized waist.

I think if you are under 5'7" the dress will fit perfectly in the length area--for me it's a little short--but will jussst pass as wearable in the SUMMER--meanwhile I'm dreaming of a GREEN CHRISTMAS with every Christmas Card I write--although I haven't written any cards to be honest--if I NEVER see another SNOWFLAKE in my lifetime I would NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Every girlie girl has gotta have some sequins, right? Just got this off E-Bay--this top runs BIG--I had initially bought a Medium in the Wine Color but sold it because I was swimming in it! I actually had this purse in the rose gold color but never really got into that color too much and then "ta-boot" it was a defective purse because the metallic lifted off that purse and it sooo then eventually got trashed.

I had inquired to you other ladies who own this bag if that happened to any of you with your Gallery Hobos- and all of you attested that your bags were "fine"--so--admittedly still withholding a little trepidation and concern I went ahead and snagged this one in SILVER and it seems to be perfect--hopefully second time will be the charm!!! My LAST DAY AT THE JOB WEARS--- I wore this ATL Shift Dress above-I had SOOO WANTED to get the ATL Lace Shift Dress that was recently out but my store here only got it in Petites and it sold out fasssst online. So I opted to this one off E-Bay (my bestest go-to friend). smile

Yesterday was my LAST Day at a Job I had been at for 5 years!!! I was the Charge Nurse to a WONDERFUL TEAM of STAFF! They will be dearly missed...and I guess they are going to dearly miss me as well--because this week they gave me the BEST going away party I have ever had! The beautiful things people wrote to me in the cards, the numerous gift cards--GAS, Dunkin Donuts, J. Crew, Music CD'S, Edible Arrangement, Flowers, Cakes, the ((hugs))--it was so SOOOO VERY SWEET--and I am deeply touched to say the least!!! Let me just say--that in the card above for even ONE PERSON to even feel like this about me in life--is PRETTY AWESOME!!! --but it turns out quite a few people felt this way about me!!! How cool!

I took a pic. of the items I got with my J. Crew Gift Card. 30% off Sale items still exists in stores--so I think I did mah'vlous. That Casbah Scarf in the blue was something I had been eyeing in the past-- but forgot about and there it was waiting for me--the last one---in the sale section! Holla!!!

I start my new job on MONDAY!!! I am excited to meet some new people--but will miss the People I used to work with!!!....

I remember going to Key West with my Nana and Grandfather back in the day. We stayed at the Pier House which was new and opulent at the time. My Grandfather was a pain in the you know what--but we loved him--of course because all in all he was "our pain." smile Anyway my Nana loved to shop--loved shoes--her size 7NN--and she had exquisite style--was a beautiful Scottish Woman with luminescent skin and blue blue eyes that were the receipt of many MANY COMPLIMENTS...Anywho-my Grandfa. loved to travel and what HE LOVED was sitting in the hotel lobby reading and people watching--what my NANA and I loved to do was SHOP--of course--and also find a little cafe to have coffee and desert (unbeknownst to him). Instead of each of us just SAYING what we wanted to do and doing it--the scenario always went like this...we'd venture out of the Hotel walk around and look in store windows--until suddenly my Grandfa. would have HAD ENOUGH of our chitter-chatter and he would initiate a little tantrum and finally profess that he was "NOT GOING TO WALK AROUND AIMLESSLY" and then in a huff he would return the HOTEL leaving my Nana and I to do EXACTLY what WE WANTED TO DO--SHOP!!! My Nana and I would be so happy seeing him depart our company--and as partners in crime we would have a lovely afternoon. I will never forget these fuschia ballet flats my Nana got me in Key West some 24 years ago--they were the talk of the school when I returned wearing them!!!

One thing you blogladies don't know about me is that I am quite a dancer--meaning I can pick up a dance very quickly say like salsa--which is very easy and I can add on my own flavor to it and come back to the right step with my partner like nobody's business! One of the most romantic evenings I had with my ex was him moving the furniture out of the middle of the living room to teach me salsa and then I litereally blew him away with my add-ons and moves. Another thing is that I can watch a choreograghed dance a few times and generally pick up most of it in a heartbeat-- always astounded my friends grwoing up. anyway I have watched the above several times and I will just say it defies my concept of reality--I don't know how they did so many things here--one of the most amazing dances I have ever seen!!!

J. Jill really does a nice Linen Dress--this dress is one of my favorite go-to dresses on a sweltering hot day. Love the style and color of this dress! "I put my hand upon my hip--when I dip you dip we dip!" smile (random song playing in my mind) In addition, I got this J. Crew Safari Belt in store. I had wanted the Bungee Belt but in person decided on this one--LUVIT!

I think this was mismarked cuz I got it for $20.99 in store and the receipt says the "Annie Dress"--but this is def. the Colette in the Faded Black.

Cute comfortable laid back kinda dress.
These Sandals are a brand called Reneeze--I have several different types from this brand and they are THE MOST COMFORTABLE SANDALS--recommend highly!

Could I Really Wear Purple and Gray Every~Day?

PSYCHE--no freakin' WAY!!! There's too many other DECADENT COLORS one can wear!
I could possibly wear some form of purple every day--especially with adding purple accent pieces like jewelry or a scarf.
Cuz PURPLE is really the most DECADENT-EST of all the colors in the world, right? smile

In this outfit I am not sporting a single splash of any J. Crew items.

One of the MANY things I like about YOGA is you do the "action" which is the ASANAS or YOGA POSES--and then you follow that up with taking time for REFLECTION or MEDITATION and by doing this a person is able to see how their ACTION (doing the YOGA) has effected/CHANGED their BEING!--you may feel your energy channels have opened up, your general state of feeling and awareness has improved, you feel relaxed, calm, centered, clearer thinking.etc.--ALL GOOD THINGS!
